Dr Sarah Merrifield
MRCGP (2019), PG Cert (Medical Education), FHEA, MBChB
I currently work as an Urgent Care GP and Clinical Lecturer in Manchester. I enjoy variety in my work and have roles as a GMC Associate, OSCE Examiner and Course Facilitator.
I first developed an interest in clinical leadership whilst at medical school and was a BMA representative for the University. I furthered my interest during GP training by undertaking a 2 year leadership fellowship. In this role I performed a review of the regional leadership offer and lead the development of a new course for doctors at ST1-4 level. I continue to facilitate on this course in Yorkshire and also deliver leadership courses in the South West region.
I’m passionate about gender equality and making the NHS a better place to work. I still consider myself to be on my own leadership journey and am always striving to improve and learn from situations that haven’t gone as well.
When I’m not at work I enjoy going on holiday as much as possible, kayaking and spending time with my husband and 2 giant french lops.
