What the course is about

Psychological safety is one of the most talked-about ideas in NHS leadership. Trust boards are asked about it and leadership frameworks mention it. Yet in the teams that need it most, it's often missing.

This is a practical, evidence-based day for people who work in NHS teams. In a small group you'll work out what it feels like to create, and keep, a psychologically safe team.

What you'll leave with

  • A clearer understanding of what psychological safety is, and what it isn't.
  • Behaviours you can use on your next shift.
  • Something to take back to your team on Monday morning, such as a pocket guide, a ward poster or an induction pack.
  • An honest look at how closely your team, and your own day-to-day behaviour, already model psychological safety, and where the gaps are.

How the day works

There are no lectures. The day is built from experiential activities, research-informed debate, NHS case studies, role-play and group exercises.

With no more than 18 people, everyone has the chance to contribute and be heard. In feedback, delegates consistently say it's the mix of activities that makes the day different.
